Today JP and I had a lazy morning (again, or should I say as usual?) and didn't get out of bed until after 9:30. The kids had been watching TV since 6am. We went downstairs and walked Pip. It was MUCH cooler out this morning! Long sleeves and pants today! After the walk I headed to Needham to pick up our box of produce, and JP and the kids had breakfast and were lazily playing video games.
Along my ride, I FaceTimed with Uncle Dave. He and Alex were in the Catskills up by Hunter Mountain. They rented a house for the week to have a change of environment while they remotely worked! What a great idea! Going on vacation without using any vacation days! While they were there they looked at a house to maybe buy! That would be great! A nice place to escape the city from! I ran over to Nana & Baba's house to put the mail in their garage, and oh man, do they need someone to mow! The grass has gone to seed it's so high!

When I got home the kids got dressed and helped me put away all the games & learning activities I had been leaving out for home schooling. We haven't been using these as much these days mostly because school sends out work for the kids on a regular basis and because when the weather is nice they are outside instead of cooped up inside needing something to do. After we put that all way they put on their winter coats and got on their bikes and went out and played with the neighborhood kids. Yes, it was cold enough that Naomi wore her winter coat today! Meanwhile JP and I got the 4 deck chairs and sanded them down and put a first coat of teak oil on them. Well JP helped out with 1 chair, then went in for lunch while I finished the rest. The plan is to do a second coat tomorrow! Oh he also cleaned out the chick's bin - which was supposed to be the children's job. The only time they paid attention to the chicks today was when JP asked them to watch the chicks while he cleaned their bin! And to think they are excited for us to have our own coop!

Once the chairs were oiled and drying we got the produce out of the box and washed and sterilized it all and left it out to dry. JP then went out to Home Depot looking for a propane fire pit and potentially an outdoor sectional for our deck. But everything is picked over at both Home Depot and Lowes! All the ones we had looked up online were out of stock! I think everyone is buying all this stuff because they're all stuck at their homes this summer! While he was out shopping, the kids and I went over to Brutus's farm. Again. Because we don't have chicks of our own, oh wait a minute...They love seeing the chickens! When it was finally too cold for me and Pip we rallied the troops and walked back to our house.
I made perogies, corn and salad for dinner while we watched Hotel Transylvania. It was cute, we had never seen it before. A good movie for October I'd say! :)
The kids are off to bed and JP and I are off to watch Harry Potter 7 part 1 after he fixes his computer!
