Mother's Day! I tried to sleep in. I got up around 7 as I heard pitter patter feet in the hallway and then dozed in and out until around 8:30. JP was up before then showered and dressed and ready for the day! He made a very nice breakfast of omelet and cinnamon buns.

We then started picking up the house, as it has become a mine field of kids toys, crayons and play things. The kids slept in sleeping bags in the family room so they brought those upstairs along with all their stuffies that they had to bring down to sleep with too. Once they cleaned those up we put the family room back together and I picked up the living room while they got dressed and JP did the breakfast dishes.
We then loaded up the car with the kids bikes and my roller blades and went over to the gym parking lot near Grammy's house. We like taking the kids there because its a big area, nice and flat and there are a few fun nooks and spaces to bike around too. This has helped Juliet gain confidence in her two wheeler riding.

We met Grammy there and had a social distancing Mother's Day visit! We walked around the parking lot and building and over to the little river while the kids biked. After a while they were really interested in exploring the river so we ended up moving the cars and bringing our chairs over there to help block the wind while we sat and the kids played. Naomi switched to roller blades after a bit and was racing around. Juliet got back on her bike and enjoyed going up and down the little hilly parking lot area, gaining more confidence riding. When we got too cold we packed up and headed home.
I made Juliet and I a salad and Naomi and JP had leftovers for lunch once we got home. JP then made a cake with the kids the rest of the afternoon! They watched a youtube video on how to do it together then made it. As the cake was baking and then cooling the kids watched several other dessert videos on youtube all the while drooling over the yummy sweets! Once the cake was cooled, they made butter cream frosting and chocolate ganache filling. Once the cake was frosted, the girls went to town decorating it!

The kids went and played outside while JP started cooking dinner and I made a big salad. As the steak was cooking, I went out to cover up the cold frame and water the plants. Yesterday it was very windy and one of the windows blew off of the top of the cold frame and shattered. I went out to put another window over it and noticed the radishes. They are very big. So Naomi and I looked it up and it said that once they were 1 inch in diameter they would be ready to pick. So we picked one, the biggest looking one. It was delicious. Even the kids tried it and liked it, well Naomi did. Juliet doesn't seem to be liking much these days in terms of food. She's been more and more picky.

When dinner was ready JP opened a bottle of chianti red wine,
Castello de Verrazzano, the last bottle of wine we brought back from our trip to Italy in 2007 from when we went to the vineyard! It was just as good as we remembered! Dinner and dessert was delicious. We then walked Pip before the sun went down and the kids biked along with us. And then as it is Sunday and tomorrow is a school day, we went up and brushed and read and got the kids in bed.
As we finished our Marvel Cinematic Universe movie marathon a while ago, we decided to start a Harry Potter Marathon. Tonight we're watching the first movie. We've also been listening to the cast read the first book too.
Here is chapter 1 read by Harry himself - Daniel Radcliff!
Here is chapter 2 read by the Noma Dumezweni, the stage Hermione. You can also listen to them read it on spotify if you don't want to watch them read it, but watch the first chapter as Daniel's facial expressions as he reads are great!
