As it is Thursday, we've got our theme day today! Back by popular demand is Harry Potter Day. The girls really wanted to do it again, so when they got up, they got into their Hogwarts robes and we were off. Naomi had her google meet meeting and then we began our magical day. We did many of the same things we did last time. Arithmancy - math where we played zingo and made our own boards. Ancient Runes - where we decoded a secret message and practiced writing in runes (penmanship!). Potions - mad science mixing different liquids from the fridge with some other staples from the pantry. This is their favorite class. They love mixing the different liquids and such. Some turn out great while others turn out really gross! They learn by taste testing each potion! Everything they make is safe for them to eat/drink by the way. Nothing toxic!

As it was rainy and cold out today, after Potions we watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while eating lunch. After the movie we went down the basement to play quidditch. Dad participated so we had 2 evenly matched teams. This lasted about 30 minutes before someone wasn't having fun. So we abandoned this and the girls just played on the trapeze and ninja line. Until someone had a meltdown. This someone needed a nap but didn't think she did. So I coaxed her up to my bedroom with the idea of watching a Harry Potter behind the scenes while we rested in bed. So we all went up to do this. I was hoping that it would be boring and that Juliet would fall asleep, but she didn't. While they watched behind the scenes, JP and I went down and made dinner. I made a squash soup with the fresh winter squash delived today by Crescent Ridge. JP made a yummy chicken parmesan. And we made a small salad for everyone with the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and celery from the farm.
We then experimented with trying to make a cauldron cake. Actually a brownie in a mug. It wasn't that great. The recipe needs tweaking, and I don't mind testing this out!! And then played a short round of checkers (harry potter themed) which ended in tears because someone was losing. It was time for bed.
