FRIDAY!!! We made it! The days are starting to blur together but I guess it's good that we made it to Friday! The kids got up and have completely given up on coming in to wake us up in the morning. I found them downstairs around 8 on the iPad which they quickly scattered from when I came into the room. Who knows what they were watching on youtube....
After breakfast the girls both did a bit of work. Naomi had a bunch of assignments in google classroom to work on and Juliet went to her morning meeting begrudgingly. She only went to say happy birthday to Ms. Stephanie and because I bribed her with an Oreo. We haven't been doing her morning meeting, which is 10 minutes every morning at 9:30 because she doesn't want to do it and its not worth fighting over. She does watch the
amazing videos that her teacher posts on her youtube channel and do the work that she sees her demonstrating.
We finished off the morning with some
space themed yoga that we didn't get to yesterday.

The girls made their own lunch today, a platter of veggies, fruits and salami. And then they played very nicely for a while after.

That afternoon we discovered more augmented reality fun that you can do just from searching key words in google.
If you type in certain animals into google on your iPhone or Android phone and scroll down there is a link to view in 3D. If you click on it you can get that animal in your house!! And as the kids had plenty of experience yesterday with putting the planets in the house, they were quick to pick up the animals. They did this while I did some work. And then I gave in and let them play some video games. Pokemon seems to be this week's favorite game.

As it is Friday we had dinner and a movie. JP made dinner and then we watched Flight of the Navigator. I remember not loving this movie, but it was one of JP's favorites as a kid. I think the girls liked it. After the movie they decided to have a sleepover in Naomi's room. And now we're waiting for them to fall asleep so we can watch something. We watched the news and it gives me anxiety watching it. We've been watching the news in the evening after the kids go to bed just to 'keep in the know' and ugh, I just can't handle it. I read the news on reddit most days and I feel like with that I can control what articles I read as I skim through the feed, but there is something about the news that makes it feel more real and anxiety provoking. So I'm not sure this is a good thing to do right before going to bed each night!! But I don't want to watch it while the kids are awake because I don't want them to be freaked out... it's just crazy what we're going through right now.
Oh and yesterday Juliet told me that her chest hurt. This of course gave me a bit of anxiety but I was calm with her. We asked her where it hurts and if it hurt when she breathed and such. Today she said it again, so we emailed the doctor just to have a record of what her symptoms are. A few hours later her doctor called and we ran through a bunch of questions with her and one of the questions she asked Juliet was did it hurt if someone pushed on her chest. She said yes when I gently pushed. The doctor said this was a good sign as this meant that it was muscular and that if it was something in the lungs we wouldn't be able to recreate the pain by pushing. Phew. I felt so much better getting off the phone with her.
Tomorrow marks a month that we've been quarantined in our house and it doesn't seem like we'll be out of this for a while. I hope that we can maintain our sanity during this time and learn together, be creative together, love each other, understand that we each need our own space and come out of this stronger and closer to each other!
