Quarantine Day 25: Online learning, Chutes & Ladders, Finishing the Puzzle!

Monday! Juliet was up around 7ish and was super excited to work in her new office. She set up a space in her room with a computer and everything. She was up and dressed and working away when JP peaked in. She went downstair and had breakfast with him and then they both went upstairs to their offices to do work. Juliet brought her laptop into JP's office to do some work for a bit. It was so cute!

Today was my first day back to work from my leave after surgery. It was exciting. I woke up at 7 and posted the work to schoology for my classes...and that was it for the day. Tomorrow should be more interesting as I'm hosting Zoom meetings for all my classes.

Naomi slept late, until about 8:30! After breakfast she had work on google classroom to do. There are 3 assignments that she has to do each day. Its not that much work, but as she is new to google classroom, the computer and how to trouble shoot on her own, it was very time consuming trying to help her. She is a good student and wants to do it all right, so she went through one assignment after the other and got it all done. Juliet watched her teacher's video on what to do today and was super excited about it. She came down saying she was ready to do it. So as I'm helping Naomi figure out how to put accent marks over the 'o' in google docs, Juliet is asking me what she can collect rocks in and put her island in... it was a bit chaotic! But we got it all figured out and all parties were taken care of and happy. And we spent the rest of the day outside! Naomi and Juliet both made these islands out of rocks and played in the mud kitchen and made a huge mess! Together we turned our driveway into a life size Chutes and Ladders board. This was a fun task that we worked on together with no fighting! We played one round once we finished the loser was not happy.

So we pivoted for lunch and that seemed to help everyone! And then we went back outside and sat in the sun and played more chutes and ladders and made more mud pies!! Oh and then dad found a ladybug infestation in the attic, so of course the girls and I went and captured about 15 of them and then put them in our cold frame to help keep the pests at bay!! And that we went back to making more mud pies and playing chutes and ladders! It was a nice relaxing day outside!!

JP came out of his new office today at lunch to enjoy the sun and de-weed the grass of dandelions with the kids.

The day ended with the kids and JP finishing the puzzle that has been sitting on the dining room table since we got it at the Briggs' family holiday swap!! I'm so excited for them!! Yay its done and now we can get the dining room table back. Now JP said I need to clear off the other half of the table that has all my art supplies on it!
