As you walk around town you see many people with face masks. They wear this due to the excessive amount of pollution in the air. I honestly don't notice it all that much. If I am walking by a truck that's on, yes you notice the exhaust, as I think they have different emissions standards here. But just walking around the area you typically would not notice that their is a pollution problem.
A lot of girls, especially children wear these sleeves over their jackets, sweaters or shirts. This is used to protect their long sleeves from getting dirty! I think this is a fantastic idea and every art teacher should have a pair of these!
The Jacket I am wearing is part of the school's uniform. The students here wear this top and matching warm up pants every day. So when I wear this all the shop keepers would know that I am a student studying in Shanghai. I don't wear this around much because I already get mistaken for a student everywhere I go!
