Today was Theme Thursday. And our Thursday them was Blue Planet!

Today we dove into the ocean and utilized the wonderful virtual aquarium tours and live cams at a few aquariums. First we did an
ocean themed yoga with Nana! After we went to the
National Aquarium and learned about Dolphins, Moray Eels, Jelly Fish and many other sea animals with their awesome virtual tour!!! The girls loved being able to navigate through the aquarium on their own. They kept a field notebook like a scientist would and documented animals by drawing them and making notes about them that the aquarium had. We also went to the
Georgia Aquarium where we got to see live cams of many different exhibits in this aquarium from sea otters to sea lions and jelly fish to coral reef inhabitants! The girls really loved looking at the many different sea animals and documenting what they saw!
Here is my lesson plan with all we did today!

As the weather turned out to be wonderful today, we spent the afternoon outside. At first the girls created an underwater submarine that could examine the wonderful sea life but then the activities lead to more gross motor sills, soccer and other fun spring activities.
