So we officially moved back into our house this weekend. And we have Naomi's big girl room all set up. She was so excited to see the space. She rediscovered some of her old toys that we had stored away and enjoyed climbing up and down on her big girl bed. She had been getting excited all week as the new sheets and blankets arrived at Grammy and Poppy's house before we moved home.
Transitioning into the new room was exciting, in fact it was too exciting and trying to get her to nap that day in the big girl bed was a complete disaster. So we skipped nap. Ok, not the end of the world. Well that evening, getting her to stay in the bed was impossible. Each time we left the room, she's get out of bed and start playing with her toys. She would open the door and peek out to see what we were doing and who was out there. Finally we had to put her into the crib in the other room that we have set up for Thing 2! Needless to say she fell right to sleep because she was exhausted!
The next day, Sunday, when it was time for nap, she said she wanted to sleep in her big girl bed. I ended up sitting and singing Puff The Magic Dragon to her until she fell asleep. And she did! She slept for 3 hours in the big girl bed!! Progress!
That night she again asked to sleep in the big girl bed. Yay! But getting her to sleep was more difficult than nap. She stayed laying down, tossing and turning, reading books, talking to her animals as long as we were in there. As soon as we left, she was out of bed at the door peeking out. Dada finally sat in there until she fell asleep. Yay! She did it. She slept all night in the big girl bed! I woke her up this morning but not before snapping a pic to commemorate the day!!
